Mangalore: A Shatadwaja Yatra organized by Yuvavahini Mulki to mark the centenary celebrations of Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, was flagged off at Mulki on Sunday, October 7 by Seetharam, proprietor of J V Sons. Hundreds of people holding flags participated in the Yatra.
Among those present on the occasion were Harikrishna Bantwal, Vinaykumar Sorake, former MP, Abhayachandra Jain, MLA, Chandrashekhar Suvarna, Yuvavahini central committee President and members of Billawa organizations.
When the Yatra reached Kudroli temple in the evening after passing through Haleyangady, Mukka, Suratkal, Kulai, Kottara Chowki, Urvastore and Ladyhill it was received by HS Sairam, Padmaraj, Treasurer, Urmila Ramesh Kumar and others. The Flag was handed over to senior leader B Janardhan Poojari.
At the temple, the flags were handed over to the priest and later a pooja was offered to Sri Narayana Guru.
The centenary celebrations will be flagged off by Congress President Sonia Gandhi on October 18. ‘Brahmakalashotsava’ will also be held at the temple on October 19 and 20.
On October 14, as part of the Brahmakalashotsava, Horakanike (offerings) will be brought to the temple in a procession from the Nehru Maidan.
