Mangaluru : Muslim Defence Force a WhatsApp Group posted messages warning action against those who remove burqa or Hijab while in public places.

The messages threatening Muslim women, asking them to wear burqa and warning those who are seen moving around in malls.

They are saying that Muslim women who wear a burqa in public places should not take it out to take photographs and selfies in public places, or they will be attacked. They have sent messages to parents on social media.

City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar has said that the police have kept an eye on the WhatsApp Group and is gathering information regarding the same.

The Commissioner’s reaction came in the backdrop of the particular WhatsApp Group posting comments of fundamentalist nature and the Department was aware of the threatening posts and is keeping track of the developments.
