Mangalore : Okuli was held at the Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Temple on Feb 22 Wednesday.

A procession took off from the premises of the temple early this morning bearing the temple deity and headed over to Sultan Battery for a ritual called Avabrutha Snana. This ritual is conducted after Shivarathri, one the day after the full moon. A Bali Utsava on the temple premises marked the beginning of this procession.

The procession was accompanied with dance and music and devotees came out on the streets to greet the procession and seek the blessings of the Lord.

Large water tankers were taken along the procession and water was sprayed on the celebrating crowds. Young people were spotted on the temple premises, throwing colored water on one another.

A prayer session on the temple premises marked the end of the Okuli at noon.
