Over 8 lakh students appear for SSLC exams across state

SSLC studentsMangalore:   Nearly 8.5 lakh students have appeared for the Karnataka SSLC examination 2013 which began on April 1, Monday. The first examination was in first language. The exams were held across 3003 centres in the state. Vigilance squads have been formed to check malpractices and to ensure that the exams were held smoothly. It was Kannada, and I did really well, said Priya with a satisfied smile as she came out of the exam hall.

6,012 sitting squads invigilated the examination with two persons at each centre to supervise the examination. The 59 centres which have been identified as sensitive centres had added security mechanisms -Inter-district squad.

 Ban orders have also been imposed within 200 meters radius  of the exam centres. If an inter state vigilance squad is ensuring malpractice free exams  there  are also two more squads led by the DC and other officials.
