Mangalore : Due to the over speeding of the private bus, a person died on the spot when the bus hit him before turning turtle and injuring 7 persons, including 3 children on NH48 near Adyarkatte on May 23, Monday at 4:00 p.m.
The deceased identified as Manjayya Shetty (50), a farmer who had just got down from a bus and was crossing the road. The accident took place when Manjayya Shetty crosses the road without seeing other bus coming moving at the speed. Although, the driver applied the brakes, the bus skidded and hit the divider before turning turtle.
The bus was plying from Mangalore to Puttur.  In the incident, a woman has lost her arm. The other injured six has been admitted in a hospital in the city.
B. Nagaraj Shetty, the chairman of the Coastal Development Authority (CDA), who was on his way stopped he vehicle and helped to shift the injured to the hospital along with the local people. The Kankanady rural police also arrived on the spot.
