Udupi : Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swamiji of Paryaya Kaniyur Math said that he regretted for the practice of caste discrimination and sending one of the devotees out of the dining hall of Sri Krishna temple recently.
Reportedly, the lady is working as an assistant lecturer of School of Allied Health Sciences (SOAHS), Manipal University, who was asked to leave the dining hall to be served for Brahmins at Sri Krishna Temple on April 15.
Speaking at the press meet, Swamiji said that the temple authority have taken all the measures to avoid such incident in the future. He personally have advised the temple authority not to discriminate any devotes coming to temple and having food. No devotees will face such insults in the coming days, he added.
Previously, Udupi district unit of Buntara Sangha president Kurkal Dinakar Shetty had condemned the practice of Pankthi Bedha and termed it as uncivilized practice.
