Bangalore: Police have arrested Surendra Babu, husband of TV actress Hemashree following suspicion over the cause of the death of the actress while the couple was on way to Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh.

Though Suresh Babu maintained that he had brought his wife to the Baptist Hospital after she fell unconscious while travelling, the doctors at the Forensic department at Victorial Hospital Hemashree’s body bore injuries on the head and face.

Tests are also being done if the actress was poisoned, authorities said.

A case of suspicious death has been registered based on the complaint of Hemashree’s father that her husband was the killer.

According to reporters, Hemashree was not happy with her marriage and that her parents had forced her to marry him.
