Mangalore : Former union minister B. Janardhan Poojary along with other Congress workers performed urulu seve (crawling ritual) at Shri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple for the speedy recovery of Sonia Gandhi, leader of the All India Congress Committee on August 6, Saturday.

Poojary also performed belli rathothsava and panchamrthaabisheka to appease the deity for the speedy recovery of Sonia Gandhi who is undergoing a surgery in the US.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the country requires the services rendered by Mrs Gandhi, who has made education a fundamental right for kids aged below 14.

He also urged all churches, temples and mosques to pray for the speedy recovery of Sonia Gandhi.

MLA Abhay Chandra Jain, MLA U. T. Khader, KPCC Secretary Ivan D’Souza, Harish Kumar, and Harikrishna Bantwal were also present.
