Ullal : The Ullal police have arrested a 33-year-old teacher of a private school on the charge of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy since two years.

The police said Dolphy Sequeira (33) from Chembugudde has been teaching English and social science in primary classes at a private school in Ullal. Sequeira has been accused of dragging a 12-year-boy into a room and sexually assaulting him on Wednesday.

The police said the boy reported about the incident to parents, who filed a complaint with the police. The police arrested Dolphy Sequeira for offence under provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act.

Dolphy Sequeira the accused was employed at Nithyadhar English Medium School and he taught English and Social Science to classes 6, 7 and 8.

He was produced before a local magistrate, who remanded Dolphy Sequeira in judicial custody. In a statement released to media, the private school management said they had placed the teacher under suspension. A four-member committee has been set up to inquire into the allegations against the teacher.
