Protest staged demanding regularization of encroached govt lands

ProtestKundapur: A huge protest was staged in front of the Taluk Panchayat office here under the auspices of the state unit of the taluk unit of All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU)  and Action Committee of Landless People demanding land and houses for the poor and homeless on November 5, Monday.

They also demanded title deeds as well as  regularization of the encroached government land.Nityananda Swami, President of state unit of AIAWU  said the  protestors were  not begging for their rights but are demanding what was rightfully due to them.

He said the government should sanction at least 10 cents land to the shelterless people.

Rajeev Padukone, president of Kundapur taluk unit of AIAWU, K Shankar, CITU district President, H Narasimha, Venkatesh Koni, AIAWU Secretary, U Das Bhandary, Mahabala, Subrahmanya Achar, DYFI taluk President, Raja, and others took part in the protest.
