Puttur :  Nearly a month after the murder of a couple in their house at Kadaba, the police could detain two persons in connection with the murder of  Thomas and Mary couple at their house near Kadaba on September 25. It is said to be a murder  for gain.

Those detained are  Mohammad Rafiq, a painter from Somwarapete and Saeed alias Qamruddin from Somavarpet, a relative of the former.

It is learnt, the two had befriended  Thomas who had awarded them contract to supply red stone. The police could track down the two who  after discarding Thomas’s sim card were using his handset.

The weapon used for the murder was traced among the bushes a few kilometers away from the couple’s house.  More details are awaited and interrogations are in progress. Police suspect more persons might be behind the killing.
