Puttur: Aneesha Nayak, an SSLC student from Puttur has made her hometown proud after she was invited to attend I-FEST², an International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology in Tunisia, which will be held from January 6 to January 14.
Aneesha Nayak won a bronze medal for her project ‘Hydrophobicity of Colocasia as a Wall Protector’ at the I-SWEEP, (International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering, and Environment Project) Project Olympiad held at Houston, USA.
As per reports, Aneesha, student at Sudana Residential School will be the first Indian to attend the fest which commenced seven years ago.
It is said that the nine-day fest is hosted by ATAST, Tunisian Association for the future of Science and Technology and is open for all students and supervisors aged between 14-24, also parents and Professors.
Sources say that fest would be divided into two main parts: firstly, I-STC, the International Science and Technology Camp, where all participants would get rid of boredom, have fun, and even create; secondly I-TSEF, the International Science and Technology Engineering Fair, a scientific competition in different areas that shall improve and develop the young scientists’ skills and show how innovative they can be.
Apart from being good at studies, Aneesha is a surfer and was one of the youngest girls from India to feature in the documentary ‘Chicks On Board’ by Doerthe Eickelberg, a journalist and surfer from Germany.
