Mangalore : A Catholic Non-Resident-Indian living in Arabian Gulf Countries over the years and having a since of enjoyment of donating his hard-earned money not only to Catholic institutions but also non Catholic institutions, as donated a princely sum of Rs.20 lacks, to the temple of SUN, namely Sri Soorya Narayana Temple of Maroli in Mangalore on Saturday. He was accompanied to the place of the renovation, stated to be coasting Rs.15 crores in all, by Mangalore South MLA, JR Lobo who is also a Christian recently elected to the Assembly.
Ronald Colaco, president of International Federation of Karnataka Christian Association (IFKCA), talking to press persons stated that when donations are given he would not make a different between one religion and another, or one community or another. That is why he had no hesitation in donating his money to a Hindu temple of a rare kind which is only next to the Sun temple of Konark in Orissa.
Colaco has been donating his excess money to educational schools, temples or churches and hearts institutions and the like for years to gather. He is a regular visitor to India every year and has a circle of friends who keep him informed about local developments.
