Rs.7.5 Foreign Currency’s seized at Mangalore Airpot

Foreign CurrencyMangaluru : The Customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport seized Foreign Currency to the value of 18250 Saudi Arabian Riyals, 1075 UAE Dirhams, 860 Kuwait Dinars, 3650 Qatar Riyals, 735 Omani Riyal, 55 Bahrain Dinars and 500 U.S. Dollars in various denominations, equivalent to Rs.7,54,411/- on Sunday, March 21.

A passenger named. Abdul Kader Perumbala hailing from Perumbala, Kasaragod, Kerala during his departure from Mangaluru International Airport in the evening of Sunday by Air India Express flight No.IX 813 to Dubai is inspected by Airport Customs officials.

The said passenger attempted to smuggle the SAID Foreign Currency out of India without valid money exchange documents and by concealment in his checked-in baggage.

Further investigation is under progress.
