Bengaluru : Samples of six other brands of noodles have been sent to private labs in Bengaluru for testing, according to Minister for Health and Family Welfare, U T Khader.
Brands including Knorr, Top Ramen, Yippee, 1to3, Scoopies, Soorya, Doodles and Ching’s Secret will also be tested. Two recognised labs in the City that tested Maggi samples have been asked to test the six other samples.
“Results for the MSG content reports in Maggi will be out by Tuesday. Based on the test report, the government will take a decision,” Khader said.
Reports by the labs in City had revealed that lead content in Maggi was within the permissible limits.
Khader had earlier said that the State would take a decision to ban the product only after the reports are out.
However, presently, based on the directions given by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, a temporary ban on sale and manufacturing of Maggi has been imposed.
