Udupi : Satish Poojari, the JD(S) candidate from Udupi constituency, was assaulted by unidentified miscreants at Kalmady on May 3, Friday night.  It is learnt, Poojari was on to his friend’s house in his car when he waylaid, abused and attacked.

The incident is learnt to have taken place at around 11.30 pm and there were four assailants in number.

The locals then admitted Satish to the Hi-Tech Hospital. He has suffered bruises in his hands and legs.

Poojari suspected the hands of opposition parties behind the attack, while the police  said the exact motive behind the attack.

Malpe police have registered a case.
