Mangaluru : “This time, preference will be given to winning candidates,” said former chief minister Siddaramaiah speaking at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Saturday February 2nd.
He was in Mangaluru to attend a programme at Manjanady.
Responding to a query on the pressure on giving ticket to Sumalatha Ambareesh in Mandya, Siddaramaiah said, “The discussions about Lok Sabha tickets are yet to be done. Congress and JDS leaders will jointly hold the meetings. Representatives in every area will ask for tickets. We have not yet decided on giving tickets. Once the discussions are held, we can give more details on the tickets.”
Replying to a question regarding the ED raid at D K Shivakumar’s residence in Delhi, Siddaramaiah said, “I am unaware about the ED raid. What I know is that D K Shivakumar will fight the matter legally.”
“BJP did not even complete its term of five years. There were three chief ministers during that time. 8 leaders went to jail. Criminal cases were registered against several leaders. What are they speaking about?” asked Siddaramaiah taking a dig at BJP’s criticism about coalition government having two chief ministers.
