Mangalore : Dakshina Kannada DC Harsh Gupta has said that a single window system would be enforced to secure permission for public functions, campaign and processions during election times.
Announcing this at a meeting held at his office on April 3, Wednesday, he said the Single Window System will function from the revenue offices in all the eight assembly constituencies. He said the new system has been implemented in order to avoid hassles while securing permission for various political programmes.
The DC has appointed heads of various departments as nodal officers and added the committee will have circle inspector transport officer, commissioners or chief officers, executive officers, election officers and assistant election officers as its members.
Any application for permission for programmes will reach the nodal officer concerned within one hour After scrutiny, the election officer will permit the same and pass the information to the District Control Room (1077).
The District Election Officer has also made it clear that adherence to the poll code of conduct was mandatory while conducing any political meetings, functions and rallies by the parties and election candidates.
