Mangalore : The Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress Committee organized a Eye Donation programme at Town Hall on Jan 21, Saturday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Rizwan Arshad, President, Karnataka State Youth Congress said that the congress has not organized an eye donation camp anywhere in the state and the DK youth have made this possible.
He also said that the UPA government has given a good programme, but officials of government are not implementing in an effective manner. The UPA government is always a youth supporter.
Criticizing BJP government he said that the BJP is assuring to give a good youth policy, but never fulfilled till date. He said that the BJP along with other Hindu outfits like Sangh Parivar, VHP, Bajarangdal, Sri Ram Sene are misusing the power to break the strength of youth of the state by evoking the communal feeling.
He said that the Hindu outfits hoisting Pakistan flag in the sacred land like India is an anti national act and the BJP is directly responsible for this evil act and hence it must e condemned and the culprits must be severely punished.
The state government assured to provide one lakh job opportunity in the state, but they could hardly provide 1000 job opportunity. The Yuva budget is still not implemented. The Vidhan Sabha election will be held soon, since the present government will collapse. The BJP will never come into power in the next election since it do not have any achievement to show to the people, other than creating conflicts between the public, he added.
Senior Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the politician’s only administrating good politics for the political party is not enough, but must put effort to work for the welfare of the public and serve them.
The party must identify every worker, who is responsible for the growth of the organization which builds the party from the grass root level.
He said that if congress was not there, the country would not have democracy, republic and not even election. The BJP leaders say that they have done the achievement in three years which has not done by congress in 60 years. But the only achievement done is in the field of corruption, he said.
Presiding over the event, senior congress leader B Janardhana Poojary said that the public if they trust and love the youth congress members, they will stand to help them at any time.
On the occasion, he collected the amount of Rs 57,000 from the dignitaries on the dais and handed over to Dance Artiste Dr Raksha Karthik and her blind student Manjappa on the their performance presented and encouraging the physically impaired people on the occasion.
He handed over the written eye donation documents given by 200 youths to Dr Krishna Prasad of Prasad Nethralaya in Udupi as a part of eye donation camp.
Congress leaders like MLA Ramanath Rai, Ivan D’Souza, Mithun Rai, Bondala Jaganath Shetty, Moideen Bawa, Mamatha Gatty, MLA UT Khader and others were present on the dais.
