Mangaluru : A  male community dog was reportedly shot dead with a suspected air gun at very close range, at the first cross, 4th C Ring Road Shivbagh Mangalore.

Animal Care Trust Suma Nayak said that, the incident took place on Thursday between 3pm and 6pm at the first cross, Shivbagh New Road. Clearly, this psychopathic person has no regard for life and has no fear of getting caught and that’s why he had the audacity to shoot down an animal in a residential area,” she said.

A post-mortem has been conducted and the air gun pellet was recovered during the post mortem. A complaint has been registered at the Mangaluru East Police Station, she added.
