Mangalore : MLA and Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat  has expressed the hopes that the synthetic track laying works presently underway at the Mangala Stadium in Mangalore would be completed in another four to five months.

He was  speaking to reporters after inspecting the progress of the works along with Deputy Commissioner Dr Chennappa Gowda on May 7, Monday. Bhat said the new track may be inaugurated on November 1 which happens to be Rajyotsava day.

The officials and the contractors who were also present informed the DC and the Deputy Speaker on the progress of the works.

The Deputy Commissioner who also spoke said it would be a two-dimensional track and added every importance has been attached to quality.

The two also inspected the new walking track laid along the borders of the stadium for the benefit of senior citizens.
