Bantwal : Thieves robbed a businessman’s house at Bolangady near Nelka on Sunday morning and they looted gold and Rs 8,000 in cash while the house owner had gone out.

It is said that, the robbers entered between 5 am to 7 am when the house owner gone a morning walk. Mr Azeez proprietor of PBA Earth Movers was living alone in his house as his wife and children had shifted to his wife’s maternal home to take care of her ailing mother.

Azeez installed a CCTV camera in house, but he had switched off the camera connection due to thunder and lightning.

The robbers go through the backdoor and escaped after robbery through the front door.

Bantwal police circle inspector K U Belliappa and SI Nandakumar inspected the house along with the fingerprint experts.

The dog’s squad also arrived to the spot. Investigation is on.
