Udupi: “Police will be directed to take strict action against those who take law and order into their hand. No matter which party, religion and caste they belong to, strict action will be taken for sure,” said Udupi district in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj.
He was addressing the gathering in the condolence meet held by Surakshitha Yuva Seva Samithi of Kenjur, remembering Praveen Poojary, on Sunday.
“Helping others is better than harming. Youth should think what they are going to do. They should know what is good and what is bad,” he said.
Addressing the gathering MLC Ivan D’Souza said that maximum punishment should be given to the murderers. It is a shameful incident.
“The punishment should deliver a message to the society about the impact of such activities. This should be a eye opening incident,” he added.
Former minister Jayaprakash Hegde said that it is the duty of parents to guide their children in a right path. Moral education is necessary to become a cultured human.
Madhwaraj pledged Rs 50,000 as personal help to the family of Praveen Poojary .Ivan handed over Rs 25,000,a personal help to the family of the deceased.
Kota Srinivasa Poojary, Mairmady Sudhakar Shetty, Praveen’s father Vasu Poojary were present among others.
