Mangalore : The annual festival or Maari Pooja of Urva Sri Mariamma Temple is underway. The two day long festivities began on February 25 and will conclude on February 26, Tuesday.
Thousands of devotees visit the temple on these two days to seek the blessings of the Goddess.
On February 25, Monday various rituals as part of Pratishta Vardhanthi Mahotsava including Sarvalankara Pooja, Ranga Pooja were held. In the night there was Haalukkisuva Pooja, Darshana Bali, Katte Balli, Madesthana and Kanchil Seva.
On February 26, Tuesday, the Goddess was specially decorated and there was Horagina Bali and Katte Bali among other rituals. The rituals will continue throughout the night on Tuesday. Rathotsava and Tulabhara Seve are also held.
