Venoor: Venoor Bahubali Mahamastakabhisheka (bath) committee chairman, Dr.Dharmasthala Veerendra Heggade has informed on Sunday in a meeting, that the Holy Bath Ceremony of Venoor statue of Bahubali Gommata has been decided upon, to be conducted at the South India level for devotees, to send out a message of self-sacrifice and non-violence in modern times across the globe.
He asked Jain devotees to be ready for developmental works due around the main statue in stone, to protect the area along with the holy religious event to be conducted in Venoor.
Venoor Dhananjay Kumar, liaison officer of state government in New Delhi at Karnataka Bhavan, was present on the occasion and informed that in 2000-01, the holy bath event cost Rs.76.36 lakhs, but at present, it will cost Rs.1.50. The Jain community had a duely make this event a success, the working President of Reception Committee urged. Several dignitaries were present at the preparatory meeting to discuss on several matters like roads, Yatri Nivas, basic facilities and so on.
Dr.Padmaprasa Ajila (royal family) welcomed the august gathering. Vijayaraja Adhikari presented the budget matters in estimates. Secretary Ashok thanked, M.J.Moodukodi conducted the proceedings.
