Mangaluru : University Evening College Mangaluru, a Constituent College of Mangalore University organized National Conference with a theme “Pay India – 2017: Emerging Tax Reforms and its implications” on 11th March 2017.
The Conference was well attended by academicians, faculty members and students from the educational institutions from the different part of the state and the representatives of Govt bodies and industries. The conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Sri.Narrotam Mishra IRS, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Mangaluru in his inaugural address is spoke about the importance of paying taxes to the country.
Mr.Ganesh, General Manager, Financial Management Division Corporation Bank on the occasion shared his views on Pay India – Do We Really Pay For The Country. In his Key note address Mr.Y.C.Shivakumar, Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Bangalore, highlighted on the tax system in India along with the briefing of the Goods and Service Taxes (GST) Its Reforms and Implications.
The President of the function Prof. Sripathy Kalluraya, Finance Officers, Mangalore University, Released the Conference Proceedings CD and spoke on the reforms in Tax are needed for a developing country. We have a scenario of building our own kingdom and here we need to contribute for a society and it’s a very apt time for us to pay for India.
After the formal function the Panel Discussion, Technical session and the paper presentations were held, there were around 160 paper presentation on the various sub themes were presented by the delegates from Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala.
The Conference was came to an end with a valedictory function presided by the Registrar Prof.K.M.Lokesh, Mangalore University, Dr.M.Subramanyam, IRS, Commissioner, Customs & Central Excise, Mangalore as a Chief guest, Mr.Abdul Dawood Bliss International Mangalore as on guest of honour, Dr.Subhashini Srivatsa, Convenor and Principal, Dr.A.Siddiq and Dr.Ramakrishna Co-Convenors, Mr.Venkatesh Nayak, Organising Secretary were present on the dais. Mr.Raghavendra Compeered the programme, Dr.Ramakrishna, Co-Convenor welcomed and Dr.Subhashini Srivatsa, proposed the vote of thanks.
