Whale shark washes ashore at Panambur

Mangalore: A 12-ft-long Whale shark was found dead on the shore at Panambur beach on September 28, Sunday.

Yathish Baikampady said that Whale shark is an endangered species. We informed the Coastal Security police, as soon as we found the 12 ft long dead whale on the shore who will take measures to bury it. His is the first time dead whale sharks as washed ashore at Panambur and found every year in Malpe and Hejamadi Beaches.

It is learnt that, Whale sharks are very gentle and found in tropical and warm oceans with a lifespan of about 70 years.
