Shiradi Ghat roadMangaluru: “Light vehicles should be allowed to pass through Shiradi Ghat during the second phase of concretisation and the narrow curves should be widened for the free passing of the vehicles during the construction work,” said district in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai.

In a meeting held at DC office on Tuesday, he said that Deputy Commissioner should inspect the spot and he should take the measures for the free flow of the traffic.

“There is a strong objection to close the Shiradi Ghat during the construction work. If the ghat is closed then the traffic pressure on Charmadi Ghat will be increased drastically and the vehicles have to face severe problems due to it. DC should meet Chief Engineer of NHAI and should discuss the matter with him,” he said.
