Mangalore: These days, no one in public life is above board, and demands keep rising for resignation of ministers, even Home minister, and suspension of police officers, not to speak of jailing MPs/ MLAs for various offences.
The All Indian Students’ Conclave(ABVP), Mangalore branch, conducted a human chain after shouting slogans of abuse against Congress-led UPA rule and assembling around Bunt’s Hostel circle near Karangalpady in city, on Wednesday morning, seeking resignation of the wily Home minister (PC) from Tamil Nadu, P. Chidambaram, a deft lawyer.
Addressing the restless protestors, local secretary K. Ramesh accused PC of deeply involving in 2G spectrum losses incurred for his government as its finance minister then (2009) and asked him to resign forthwith.
The minister should be arrested and thrown into a jail after sacking him, the ABVP leader roared, for causing Rs1.76lakh crores loss to Central Government but as illegal wealth to DMK and Congress ministers.
Even PM Singh is involved in the case, indirectly as he was blinking at the scam. But PC was the kingpin, Ramesh attacked. City secretary Vinay Horatti made scathing remarks against PC. DK ABVP Convenor Mahesh said that over 25 lakhs of students were against corruption, and UPA rule has to end. A Memo was submitted to President of India through DC.
