Mangalore: The International Labourers’ Day was celebrated jointly by DK District Karmika Parishad, the Bus Employees Association, and the DK District Headload Workers’ Association at Ravindra Kala Bhavan in University College on May 1, Sunday.
As part of the day, several workers were honored in appreciation of their hard work and service to society.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Ninganagowda Jantli, the district judge of the fast track court, said that workers must avoid consuming alcohol because it not only spoils their lives, but also their health and financial condition.
The labourers including conductors, head-load workers, and bus drivers, who had served for over 30 years, were felicitated.
