Mangaluru : Reacting to the protest against Yettinahole project organised by the Nethravathi Rakshana Vedike District in Charge Minister Ramanath Rai said Yettinahole project which is already started, it is difficult to stop. To stop this project we will discuss it in the Assembly, the State government had called the protesters for the meeting also, he said.
Addressing the press persons at Circuit House on Monday, Rai said the district administration has put good efforts to provide drinking water to the public. The main reason behind water scarcity is the decrease in rainfall by 21 percent last year. The work on the new vented dam at Thumbe will be completed by next month,” he said.
The Minister also stated that steps have been taken to provide compensation to those whose lands will be submerged due to the project.
State Health Minister UT Khader, Mayor Harinath, DK Interim Congress President Ibrahim Kodijaal and others were present.
