Mangaluru : Four miscreants fell upon a youth standing near a Textile shop in Surathkal juntion and stabbed him repeatedly. The critically injured youth was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Fazil (23), a resident of Surathkal’s Mangalpete.

This is the second murder in Dakshina Kannada district in two days. It may be recalled here that Praveen (31) was hacked to death by unidentified assailants while he was about to return home after closing his chicken shop at Peruvaje Cross in Bellare on the night of July 26.

Mangaluru Police commissioner Shashikumar visited the spot and declared 144 Section in Surathal, Panambur, Mulki and Bajpe police station limits.

As a precautionary measure, city police commissioner N Shashikumar has imposed prohibitory orders in and around Panambur, Bajpe, Mulki and Surathkal till July 30 midnight.
