Bangalore : Zee Kannada produces new and unique reality shows. Following this legacy of innovation, it is coming up with yet another adventure, “Paradeshadalli Paradaata”, the brand new offering for the audience entertainment.
Gautham Machaiah, Head of Zee TV (south), said that a new Experiment of living in a foreign country on the brink has been thought of  by his company for the viewers.
Show Concept: “Paradeshadalli Paradaata” is  explained in one line as Survival of the fittest in a foreign land. It takes the youth of Karnataka to a foreign destination and gives them various physical and mental tasks. Participants have to finish these tasks using limited facilities and within certain time period. The participant who completes all the tasks successfully in the foreign land, which has a different language, culture and society, will be declared the winner.
About Participants: This reality show has 14 finalists who were scrutinized and selected on the basis of auditions across the state. Participants from different walks of life were chosen with a view to find a diverse mix. They range from IT professionals, students to a person making his living by photocopying. These selected participants were flown to Thailand accompanied by a team of technical experts from Zee Kannada.
Why Thailand: This new and innovative concept has been shot in the beautiful locales of Thailand, a neighboring country that shares similar culture with India. Though close to the culture and customs of India, Thailand is also chosen for its unique language, customs, cuisine and lifestyle.
Task Based Format: The tasks have been formatted and designed in such a way to reflect the sensibilities and culture of Karnataka in Thailand. For example, a task to find Auto Shankar in Thailand will be given to the participants. The famous toys of Channapattana will also be highlighted and given importance in the reality show.
On arrival at Thailand, these contestants will be introduced to the time bound tasks in the show. Those who complete their daily tasks are secure. Like other reality shows, this show too has participants who will be eliminated.
Participant speaks: Mohammed Rafi, a contestant said “Initially, when I was selected for the show, my parents had mixed feelings, one being apprehension about traveling abroad and the other being excitement of watching me on television. As we were not allowed to communicate with the outside world, my parents were very worried throughout the shoot. I dedicated each and every task performed and won to my mother.”
Rajesh Shetty, Head – Non Fiction said Zee Kannada comes up with unique shows every year. Last year we had Naaniruvude Nimagaagi where we fulfilled wishes of people from across Karnataka hosted by Actor Shivrajkumar. We are beginning this year with the launch of Paradeshadalli Paradaata, a new format being presented in Kannada television. Paradeshadalli Paradaata is all about the survival of 14 Kannadigas in an unknown country where food, shelter and basic amenities of life can only be earned through completing tasks.
The show has been planned for 33 episodes and the contestant who successfully completes all the given tasks will be declared the winner.
‘Paradeshadalli Pardata” will be aired at 9 PM, starting today (February 16, 2011) from Wednesday to Friday on Zee Kannada.
