Mangalore : B Ramanath Rai, State minister for forest, environment, ecology and district in-charge inaugurated the ‘Inspire Award Science exhibition’, organized by Pilikula Regional Science Centre at Pilikula Science Centre on July 20, Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rai said that earlier people used to crave for learning science and technology, but they lacked opportunity. The present generation has good environment and many opportunities required for the development. Such kind of exhibition will encourage students in field of science, he added.
Many competitions are being held in the International level and when the students from Dakshina Kannada participate and win in the competition, it is the matter of pride to our district.
ZP CEO Tulasi Maddineni said that Dakshina Kannada is district of literates and intelligence and working here is the matter of prestige, he said.
The model ‘Censored Street Light’ of seventh standard student Chaitra of Koyyode Higher Primary School attracted the large audience.
TP president Harish Kumar, MLA Shakuntala Shetty, Former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Philomena Lobo, principal, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and others were present.
