Mangalore : State Health Minister UT Khader under the National Urban Health Mission, city will seven new health centers.
Speaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on April 29, Tuesday, he said that three existing health centres in the city will upgraded at a cost of Rs 10 lakhs, while other health centre will be established at an estimated cost of Rs 45 lakhs.
Minister also said that the city will get full-fledged health centres at Kulai, Kunjathbail, Shaktinagar, Bunder, Padil, Jeppinamogaru, Jeppu Bolar and Kadri, where doctors will render their services from 9 am to 8 pm. The government has earmarked the amount of Rs 2.1 crore for Mangalore city, while Rs 1.25 crores for Ullal area.
Apart from the health centres, Mangalore will get five health booths and Ullal area will get 4 health booths, where the Asha workers will be posted in the city areas and the measures will be taken to increase their allowance to Rs 2000.
Interim District Congress President Ibrahim Kodijal, NS Kareem, TK Sudhir and others were present.
