Mangaluru : The Mangaluru Regional Transport Office and Traffic police jointly conducted a inspection drive in city buses for violating traffic rules and using shrill horns in city on July 6.
As per complaints from general public, the team inspected 60 city buses near statebank area and collected Rs 6000 penalty for using shrill horns. Some buses not maintained steps heights as Senior citizens, women and small children’s use it. The officials also put stickers on the buses to reserve seats for senior citizens.
In-charge Regional Transport Officer G S Hegde, Traffic Inspector Mohan Kottari and other traffic officials were present during the inspection.
