Mangaluru: BJP president Amit Shah has been visiting Karnataka only to create rift between people in the state, alleged Ivan D’Souza, chief whip of government in Legislative Council.
He told reporters that the BJP president has been trying to disturb peace in Karnataka. “BJP is trying to create rift in society in the name of religion and thereby expect to gain political mileage out of it. They have been politicizing murders too.
They are planning to win the election through communal politics. BJP leaders in Karnataka are demanding ban on Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and Popular Front of India (PFI) in the state. Since SDPI and PFI have bases in multiple states in India, the central government should take a decision to ban them. Let them urge the central government to ban SDPI and PFI,” Ivan said.
Lashing at Amit Shah for his recent statements against Siddaramaiah government, Ivan said, “Who is Amit Shah to ask on utilization of central sanctions? Central government sanctions are the share of taxes we pay and we have the right to receive it. Karnataka was getting central sanctions even when UPA was ruling India.”
Campaigns of BJP to make Karnataka Congress-free are not getting response from people of the state, Ivan said. “B S Yeddyurappa himself has complained that many BJP leaders are not supporting the party campaigns,” he said.
