Mangalore: Congress Leader and the youth congress leader, Bondala Jaganath Shetty (38), met with a road accident and killed at Melkar on July 31, Tuesday.
Reportedly, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, had dropped his driver and was on his way to his home, when suddenly a gas tanker which was moving from opposite direction, hit his car at Melkar, near Panemangluru leaving him injured. Shetty is survived by his wife and a daughter.
The dead body of Bondala Jagannath Shetty was brought to the District Congress Office for the final bid adieu from AJ Hospital in the decorated vehicle.
Speaking on the occasion, District Congress President Ramanath Rai said that Bondala was the strength of the Youth Congress. He was a live-wire in the party and encouraged the youth to join the party. He was a good social worker also, he added.
Youth Congress leader Vishwasdas Shetty, expressing his shock over Bondala’s death, said that it is really shocking news of his tragic death. He was the one who inspired and guided the youths in every step.
KPCC Secretary Ivan D’Souza said that he was an active member of the party and encouraged us and worked for the welfare of the Youth. No one can fill his place in the party. Further the person like him must take birth again.
Many congress leaders gathered at congress office and paid a floral tribute to his departing soul.
