14.06.10 Mangalore : The Indian Red Cross Society felicitated seven donors on account of ‘World Blood Donors Day’ at Conference Hall of DC Office on June 14, Monday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Krishna J Palemar, District in charge minister, said that donating blood to the needy is the great job. The Indian Red Cross Society is doing good job in serving the needy. They have even achieved name and fame in the army field during the war.
The deputy commissioner must work more to encourage the people to donate blood. Palemar also complimented one of the blood donors Rakesh for conducting 101 blood camps do far.
Blood cannot be taken forcibly from the people with the purpose to save others life, but one must donate blood on their own with the intention to help others, hence awareness must be created among people o encourage them.
The function arranged to felicitate the blood donors in the presence of small group of people must be done in front of large audience so that every common people will be encourage, said DC V Ponnuraj, speaking after presiding over the occasion.
The blood donors like Dr Balakrishna Rao PHC Padubidri, Dr Imran, medical officer, BA Hospital, Thumbay, J J Pinto, principal, SNM Polytechnic College, Moodabidri, Chandrahasa, Social Worker, Bayar, Sathyashankar Shetty, social worker, Sacharipet, Ashith Pal, executive director, Corporation Bank Head Office were felicitated on the occasion.
Dr B Devdas Rai, chairman of IRCS Blood Bank welcomed the gathering. Dr V S Thalithaya, Medical Officer, Blood Bank introduced the felicitators. Raviraj S Shettian, managing director, Athena Hospital proposed vote of thanks.
