Mangalore : All polytechnic college students association staged a protest and formed as human chain at Hampankatta on August 6, Tuesday demanding to withdraw the present carryover system.
Advocate Dinaker Shetty, addressing the protesters said that that the students of polytechnic colleges are protesting from the past 32 days. Even though they have submitted the memorandum to the MLA’s, deputy commissioner, ministers and the government requesting to withdraw the present carryover system, they have not responded so far. This has affected more than 80% students from continuing their 3rd and 5th semester.
He also said that if the government does not fulfill the demands of the students, we will start a ‘Bangalore Chalo Campaign’ to protest in front of Higher education minister and Chief Minister’s house, he said.
All polytechnic college president Ramith Kumar, Vice president Vinay H J, Sachin Bangera, Dikshith, Karishma D Ullal, Udupi president Jovin, Secretary Sachin, Belthangady President Mohammed Arif, Sullia President Prajwal K T and other participated at the protest.
