Puttur Mahalingeshwara Jatra concludes: CM’s wife present

puttur BediPuttur:  A Puttur Bedi(fireworks show) was arranged to mark the week-long car festival coming to an end on Tuesday, April 17 night at Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple in town. Thousands were thrilled while watching the famous show of fire in sky.

CM DV Sadananda Gowda, who never missed the scene for years, could not be present this year as he was on tour. His wife Datty came to the temple to worship the historic deity and watched the Darshana Bali CM was advised to cancel a foreign tour.

The temple built 900 years ago, has its annual car festival in April. For a week, God is taken in a procession round the town. A chariot is pulled by devotees at night.

Apart from Puttur Bedi Khamba, Bangarakatte Savari and Chariot festival were held on Tuesday night, in a concourse of devotees.
