Moodbidri : Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala felicitated ten personalities and conferred ‘Alva’s Nudisiri-Award-2010’ at the valedictory ceremony of three-day Kannada literary and cultural fest Alva’s Nudisiri held at Sundari Ananda Alva Campus of Alva’s Education Foundation on October 31, Sunday.
The achievers were felicitated with shawl and a fruits’ bowl, cash prize of Rs 10,000, traditional memento and a citation.

The award recipients were Dr GS Amoora (Literature), Dr M Veerappa Moily (Social Service), Dr MM Kalburgi (Research), Santhosh Kumar Gulwady (Journalism), Dr Shimoga Subbanna (Light Music), Dr Balipa Narayana Bhagavata (Yakshagana), Dr M Leelavathi (Cinema), Prof B Jayaprakash Gowda (Organization), Dr BK Basavaraja Rajarshi (Spirituality) and Dr KP Putturaya (Literature).

Dr D Veerendra Heggade said urged the students to cultivate interest in Kannada literature to make the event fruitful.
State Minister for Higher Education VS Acharya, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Ananda Alva, MLAs Abhayachandra Jain, Srinivas, Gopal Bhandary, former minister K Amarnath Shetty, Jayashri Amarnath Shetty and Vaidehi, President of Alva’s Nudisri were among on the dais.
