A review of Kannada film “Jackie”
Mangalore: Directed by Soori who gave us films like “Duniya”, “Junglee”, and “Inthi Ninna” which are unconventional, and different from one another, “Jackie” is a full-scale entertainer with Puneet R. in a new kind of a role as a slum kid and speaking their lingo. The technical superiority of the film has to be acknowledged too. High expectations of the fans have been fairly realized, without following a fixed pattern of emotions, actions and songs.
The film presents fine visuals and plenty of action. So no dull moments here. Puneet stands out, with Bhavana filling emotional requirements and Rangayana Raghu’s mannerisms or gestures as a cop look pleasing. However, the scene where the hero meets the heroine for the first time, could have become more natural. Puneet as Jackie is in a role of rescue. Music by Harikrishna and lyrics by Yogaraj Bhat keep haunting you when you come out of the show.
