Mangalore : A DK Distrioct ‘Nudi Theru’ (language chariot) will start its journey on Monday, March 7 from Kadri Park to Belgaum, as a part of Vishwa Kannada Sammelana envisaged on the border region of Karnataka.
It will detail the DK culture in essence and on way to Belgaum, Create awareness for Kannada Language, history and culture passing through many other districts.
P. Shivashankar, CEO of Zilla Panchayat, speaking at ZP auditorium in city saturday to the reporters, that preparations for the august event are made. The chariot is designed by Nisarga Institution. Tableans showcasing rich traditions and historical significance will be created and sent over to the Belgaum venue in all splendor and taste.
The district Kannada Chariot on way visits Bantwal, Puttur, Sullia, Belthangady and Moodabidri. Tahsildars will receive and look after the chariot that leaves local borders on March 10, with blessings of prominent persons in every taluks.
K.V. Raman of Ranga Bharathi, Nithyananda Rao and Lakshmeesha of Mani Krishna Swamy are the DK District representatives to the world Kannada Assembly 50 prominent person from various walks and occupations of life have been invited to participate in Belgaum meet, Shivashankar revealed.
He requested people at large to join the Chariot tour in DK District.
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Mangala Naik, Assistant Director, Kannada and Culture Department, K.V Raman of Rang Bharathi, Chandrasekhar Shetty, among others were present at the press briefing by CEO-ZP at the auditorium.
