Mangalore: Mandd Sobann, a premier Konkani cultural organization of the world, has chosen 25 Konkani institutions (list attached) for its awards at a 25 day world level Konkani Cultural Festival, stretching from 25ht Nov. to 19th Dec, 2010 mainly based in Kalangan at Shaktinagar Mangalore 16, with the celebration of a main event “World Konkani Unity Day” as the Jewel in the crown, as on 9-12-2010  Thursday at Nehru Maidan, Mangalore, when India’s President Ms. Pratibha D. Patil will be present as the Chief Guest.

This key function starts at 11 am in the morning of 9th Dec 2010, as per an invitation issued by the “Gurkar” of Manndd Sobhann, at a press conference called by him on Wednesday, 17th Nov. 2010 at Hotel Deepa Comforts, in Mangalore on M.G. Road.

Roy Castelinho, Patron of Mandd Sobhann was present. He announced the names of 25 award winning Konkani institutions from all over the world, to receive the world Konkani cultural convention awards.

The event of 25 days will unify Konkani speaking people and cultural associations in Mangalore, Eric Ozario informed the press gathering yesterday. A music nite was arranged on this occasion. Louis J. Pinto, Mannd Sobhann President was present, with other members and office – bearers at the press meet.
