Belthangady : One person died on the spot and six others were injured when their Innova car fell into a 150 feet deep ditch at Charmadi Ghat on August 20, Tuesday night.

The deceased person is Mohan (27), son of Chandayya Nayak of Ujire. The injured are Subrahmanya, Ranjith, Prasad, Pratap and Avinash. It is learnt, the car fell into the gore on the nignth curve. It is learnt all of them decided to go to Charmadi Ghat to enjoy the beauty of nature. However, the driver lost his control leading to the accident.

They had come to Ujire to attend a wedding and decided to enjoy Charmadi Ghat’s beauty after the wedding, only for tragedy to strike.
