Mangaluru: “Festival which spreads the essence of tradition and culture of coastal region ‘Karavali Uthsava’ to be held from December 23 to January 1at Kadri Park, Karavali Uthsava Ground and Pilikula Nisargadhama,” said district in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai.
He was speaking in a meeting which was held to analyse the preparations for the Karavali Uthsav, at DC Office on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Dr K G Jagadeesh informed that 14 committees have been formed for the success of Karavali Uthsava under the leadership of Minister Ramanatha Rai.
In the meeting it is decided to flag off the Uthsav at Kadri Park on December 23 evening which will be followed by a grand procession. Daily cultural events should be held at Kadri Park and Karavali Uthsav Ground and to organise the exhibition at Uthsav Ground.
MLA J R Lobo suggested organising commercial exhibition as well as selling centres during the Uthsav. He also suggested to prepare volunteers for explain about the medicinal plants and various science centre equipments to the people.
Mayor Harinath, Konkani Academy President Roy Castellino, Beary Academy President B A Muhammad, DK Kannada Sahitya Parishad President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura and others were present.
