Mangaluru: The grand festival of coastal Karnataka Karvali Uthsava was inaugurated by district in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai on Friday at Karavali ground.
Speaking on the occasion Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader said that various organisations and volunteers have put their efforts to emphasize the tradition, unity and culture of coastal Karnataka.
“DK is a district with unity in diversity. Uthsav like this will help to build a stronger nation. Mangaluru has been chosen for smart city project. The city becomes smart if the people of here become smart. It is the attitude of people which will make this city as smart,” he said.
Nearly 70 troupes had taken participation in the colourful grand procession from Karavali Uthsav ground to Kadri Park.
Tableaus of Kannada, Konkani, Tulu, Beary academies and Cultural department caught the attention of people.
DC Dr J G Jagadeesh, ADC Kumar, Mayor Harinath and others were present.
