Mangalore: The annual Sandesh Foundation for culture and Education awards for 2012 will be presented on February.26 at 5-30 PM at its premises in city Mangalore Bishop Dr. A.P. D’Souza will preside. Vaidehi, a Kamada writer is the chief guest. Bishop of Bellary, as chairman of Sandesh Foundation would be present.
Dr. K.V. Tirumalesh, an eminent Kannada writer and columnist, is chosen for Kannada literary merits, while Konkani lexicographer and columnist from Shimoga, Madhava Pai secures the award for Konkani other awardees selected are: Indudhra Honnapure (journalism), Catherine Rodrigues (Tulu literature), Geetha Priya (film director-lyricist), Sri Padre (media education/social service) Peter Lewis (Art), Jerome D’Souza (Konkani music), Maria Jyothi (best teacher) and John D’Souza (special awards).
Foundation director Fr. V. Mendonca attended the press meet to make announcements on Thursday, February 16. Each award carries Rs 10,000 and other gifts with citation.
