Bengaluru : A 100-oxygenated bed facility was made operational at Haj Bhavan on Saturday. Speaking to the media, Revenue Minister R Ashoka said that there has been an increase in demand for oxygen beds and hence the government is adding oxygenated beds at Covid care centres. Haj Bhavan CCC is equipped with 100-oxygen beds while the officials have been working to add another 50 HDU and 50 ICU beds at the Haj Bhavan CCC shortly. The CCC has all the basic amenities with good quality food being served and doctors and paramedics taking care of the patients 24*7.
There are 8 doctors, 12 nurses, 12 housekeeping staff and a data operator has been posted in the center. For emergency purposes, 2 ambulances are also deployed. There are doctors who can advise the asymptomatic and mild patients in the facilities and this will be of great use for the public. As a first step, triaging will be done and on the same basis, medicines will be provided to the patients. Food facility is also arranged in the Haj Bhavan for patients. This center will also act as a triaging center in this basis; patients will be shifted to appropriate facilities.
“The Covid cases are coming down in the City due to lockdown. Our aim is that no one should suffer due to lack of oxygen beds. Hence, we have provided 800 oxygen concentrators at various CCCs. We have also launched a unique facility known as oxygen on wheels. The Government has opened a 40-oxygen bed facility at Hosakerehalli on Friday while the effort is on to add 100 oxygen beds everyday”, Mr Ashoka said.
